Corsair CX750M Power supply Unpacking

Unpacking the Corsair CX750M was a pleasant experience with everything perfectly packed. Coming squeezed between air tubes to ensure it was not damaged in transit, it was great to see a manufacturer taking precautions with potential shipping complications and DOA units.

The CX750X has a very stealth like feel. It’s like NVIDIA had a baby with a ninja. Its been coated in a matt black heat-resistant paint coming with a matching black fan grill and neon green corsair branded stickers.

corsair-cx-750m-cables

As you can see, the Corsair MX750 cables are well organised, instead of being braided like a majority of psus on the market Corsair have opted for flatter cables.

While they take a little more work to mold in and around your pc case they are a refreshingly decent length, I had no trouble routing them through the Corsair Obsidian 650D which is mid tower case in which the power supply sits on the bottom of the case while the cables are routed to the other side of the case through the back of the motherboard, it was a relatively easy process routing all the cables.

If I had to be picky about this power supply it would have been great so see some spare cables included just incase something goes wrong during the build process or a bad cable slipped through the quality control process, while thankfully it didn’t happen to me, it has happened before with previous pc builds.

Corsair CX750M Bios Readouts

The power supply is powering an Intel Core i5 2500k overclocked to 4.8Ghz, Custom CPU water cooling and an ASUS 290x OC.

Corsair CX750M Bios

The CX750M is a solid power supply providing all rails more power than they need, this allows for slight fluctuations in rail voltages when the PSU is under load when you are gaming, this is great considering a great deal of power supplies often come with the +12v rail siting under 12v under normal load. Even when I am mining bitcoin and my machine is under full load the PSU keeps sturdy and does falter.

Conclusion

Corsiar have really been making a name for themselves in the past years with high quality products and their power supplies it seems are no exception, overall I am very pleased with the Corsair CX Series 750M.

My previous highest overclock prior to purchasing the CX was 4.55Ghz Prime95 stable, however that being said it was a 500 watt OCZ model which would explain the higher overclock achieved.

Now I am not saying this power supply is gods gift to pc enthusiasts and will magically increase your pc overclock however, the overall stability of my system and my increased overclock have made me one happy purchaser.

This power supply would be a perfect fit for anyone running a 2 x SLI setup or a PC overclocker looking to buy a stable performance power supply.
