That’s right folks, no new Dragon Age this year but considering the game was just released mid November 2014, we can’t expect a sequel for this amazing gaming franchise
Instead of pushing the BioWare team to more content for the Dragon Age franchise, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgenson announced that there will be nothing new in 2015, but instead revealed that BioWare is working on a couple of new pieces that are very exciting. He didn’t elaborate much on those pieces, but rumors say that it might be a new Mass Effect 4!.
So what’s going to happen in Dragon Age this year?
Well according to Mark Darrah, BioWare’s executive producer for Dragon Age: Inquisition, the first DLC add-on is now officially in development. While specifics of the new DLC is yet to be revealed, Dragon Age fans can now rest easily knowing that BioWare hasn’t forgotten its eager fans with an upcoming DLC that’s focused on its single player campaign however, dont expect anything this year.
What is Dragon Age: Inquisition?
I’m going to assume you’ve already heard of the Dragon Age game series, but if not, then you would probably want to check it out for yourself. It’s a solo fantasy RPG game for the first two releases and now has expanded to multiplayer online.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the third part of the Dragon Age series that was launched mid November 2014. It is one of BioWare’s most successful games aside from their classic Baldur’s Gate. Although the game sparked a lot of criticisms with their new multiplayer feature, the game still received numerous awards. This can only mean one thing; it’s a must-play game especially if you’re into RPG games.
From the start of the franchise, Dragon Age Origins had a few notable characters namely the Warden, Alistaiir and Morrigan. Dragon Age II had also a few of their characters that are quite significant in the series namely Varric and Cassandra. In Dragon Age Inquisition, some of these names were showcased as a playable character while a few were just added content. This just goes to show that the world of Dragon Age is somewhat intertwined and is consistently going forward with the same world and at times, same characters.

Being a Dragon Age fan myself, I actually am not surprised. Putting the launch issues and optimisation issues aside, the Dragon Age series has become a very successful franchise that garnered some of the gaming world’s most prestigious awards. To mention a few, Dragon Age: Inquisition won D.I.C.E. Awards Game of the Year and Dragon Age Origin won IGN’s PC game of the year. Even though we’re not getting new Dragon Age content this year, I bet the game will still be a hit until that time comes.
