Gigabyte have been making huge strides in the pc technology world now for many years dominating the desktop pc and motherboard market so it comes as no surprise that Gigabyte have teamed up with Nvidia who are well-known for their high-end video cards to deliver The Brix ‘DIY’ Gaming PC Kit.
The Brix sports an Nvidia like design utilizing their green and black brand colours (or black and red if you want an AMD Variant) all while making sure it is fully VESA compliant coming bundled with a bracket so it can be mounted behind any desktop monitor. That means any VESA complaint screen can be turned into a fully fledged media centre or desktop pc.
“The GIGABYTE BRIX Gaming is the perfect showcase for Intel and Nvidia’s exceptional technologies, The BRIX Gaming packs a high-performance, desktop-class processor and GPU that is highly suited to processor-intensive creative applications and 3D gaming titles. It is a great example of the type of innovation GIGABYTE is delivering for the desktop PC space.”

The Brix Gaming Specifications
Henry Kao, VP of GIGABYTE Motherboard Business Unit made a bold claim in his speech and has definitely lived up to that claim, providing enough grunt to keep any gamer happy.
While the Brix Gaming PC kit will not feature an Nvidia 8-series GPU you have to take into account that it’s a small form factor case, Gigabyte are limited by the heat and the rate of dissipation so we can’t expect them to work wonders, regardless of that the Gigabyte Brix Gaming PC Kit looks like an amazing piece of kit.
- Processor: Intel Dual Core i5 4200H -2.8GHz with 3MB cache (Core i7 coming in August)
- Graphics Processor: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
- 2 SO-DIMM DD3L Slots
- 1 x mSata SSD and 1 x 2.5” SSD / HDD
- 2 Mini HMDI Ports
- 1 Display Port
- 4 USB 3.0 Slots (2 Front and 2 Rear)
- Bluetooth 4.0
- IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi
The Brix Specifications are overall solid although I would personally would be more inclined to wait until august for the i7. The Brix Gaming is still a very solid small form factor gaming pc on paper more than capable of grinding out even the most demanding of video games.
Native 4K Decoding and Surround Support
Gigabyte really went out on a limb and made sure this gaming pc kit would appeal to even the most diehard of gamers featuring one Mini DisplayPort and two HDMI slots enabling triple desktop monitor setups right out of the box, making it perfect for 3D Gaming and home theater applications.
To top things off, The Gigabyte Brix Gaming supports the latest 4K monitors right out of the box, so if you already have a 4K display and don’t have a 4K output maybe you should consider buying one/
The Brix Gaming Conclusion
Utilizing a dual-core Intel i5 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, The Brix Gaming ‘DIY’ PC Kit is a competitively built computer in the mid-level range, with plenty of grunt to satisfy even the most power-hungry user.
