From the same game developers that brought us Bioshock, Unreal Tournament franchise, and Heroes of Ruin; Digital Extremes and n-Space collaborated in bringing us a new D&D RPG PC game to be released this year on Steam.
Not to mention, some contributors from the Dragon Age: Origins, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate also had a hand on Sword of the Coast Legends.
“Following the biggest and most exciting year yet for Dungeons & Dragons, Sword Coast Legends captures the spirit of D&D in a fresh, party-based RPG experience. With the director of Dragon Age: Origins and contributors from Neverwinter Nights and the Baldur’s Gate series driving development of Sword Coast Legends, we feel n-Space has the deep industry experience and talent required to deliver a new way for D&D players to experience exactly what a DM can add to the adventure.”
Nathan Stewart, Brand Director for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast
What To Expect From Sword Coast Legends?
First off, it’s not the same game if it’s not set in the world of the Forgotten Realms. Luckily we still have this set in the game for us. The game is a roleplaying game that gives us the option to play single-player or multiplayer. If you already know how to play Dungeons and Dragons, the game is basically that with a newly added experience like the non-adversarial 4 with 1 experience. Here are a few main things that built this game:
- There will be 5 playable races and 6 unique character classes to begin with.
- Storylines are a plenty, offers us a pause time, party-based tactical combat and of course the compelling and complex RPG concept.
- The game comes with the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe based on the fifth edition ruleset with its lore and legend.
Sadly, there were no other platforms announced as it may offer a different gameplay experience. However, as long as the game delivers a good PC User Interface, it probably won’t matter that much.

Conclusion
As a huge D&D Fan, I can’t tell you how excited I really am. Having the same game concept of two parties (the DM (Dungeon Master) and the adventurers), the game is said to give its fans the ultimate experience of having the DM guide the players through customizable adventures. This way, it would deliver the players more fun and desirable adventure.
