A possibility of streaming your Xbox One games to your PC when Windows 10 is released. Gaming

Microsoft has revealed Windows 10 will be coming out later in 2015, and one of the new features of the Xbox One and Windows 10 will be the ability to stream games.

While Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One will be able to stream to a PC, they are now saying that the Xbox team is “Investigating the possibility” of streaming games from Windows 10 PC’s to the Xbox One!

This could mean that Steam Machines like the Alienware Alpha, among others, could face some serious competition from the Xbox One. However, a game like Total War: Rome II may not work well with a controller, but Microsoft is supposedly working on workarounds for games that do not support controllers very well. Perhaps Microsoft will produce a mouse and keyboard that is compatible with the Xbox One.

Can The Xbox One Rival The Steam Machines?

While this is all and good for Microsoft to possibly support game-streaming capabilities, it still has yet to be determined whether the Xbox One can truly handle game-streaming like Steam Machines can. If Microsoft can pull off the hardware tweaking right, reducing lag, and stuttering; the Xbox One may turn in to the Steam Machine killer.

This could be good or bad for the gaming industry, for while Steam Machines are not terribly popular, the Xbox One may not be the choice that all gamers want. Although, if you really like Microsoft products, Windows 10 and the Xbox One will be amazing for having a connected ecosystem for gaming. Also, the Xbox One wireless controllers will soon have an adapter to connect them directly to your PC, similar to what already exists for Xbox 360 wireless controllers already.

No One Knows When This Service Will Be Live

Microsoft has possibly turned the corner from being a “Walled Garden” type of ecosystem with the possibility of PC to Xbox and Xbox to PC streaming. While this could mean an end to Xbox Exclusive, rather simply “Windows Exclusive” titles, Microsoft has yet to reveal any concrete information on streaming services.
