With technology advancing to the point that a lot of them are touchscreens, we are here to remind you that keyboards are still important in our computing lives. Here’s our top 3 keyboards that are released or releasing this year. Hardware News

While we let ourselves be submerged to bigger news like virtual reality gadgets, new techs on our GPUs and CPUs and even ground-breaking software, let us take a few moments to take a look at some of the keyboards that were released during that time.

Nowadays, desktop PC’s, laptops, tablets and phones have gone through advancement that they now have the capabilities to NOT use keyboards, i.e. touchscreen or applications.

It may be cool and can even be practical, but there’s always that time when we badly need a keyboard to ease our gameplay or workload.

Here, we bring you some of 2015’s newest keyboards that could potentially be of help:

Tesoro’s RGB Lobera Spectrum

Just last year, Tesoro joined the RGB keyboard game with Corsair, Razer and Logitech with their own Excalibur keyboard.

With these trending RGB mechanical keyboards, Tesoro has upped their game with a new one called Lobera Spectrum. Measuring at 183 x 498 x 25 mm and weighs around 3 lbs, the keyboard also comes with nine different LED effects. It also features customizable led effects on each keys individually to suit your preferences. The best feature this keyboard has to offer is the 1,000 polling rate, switchable N-key or 6-key USB rollover support. Aside from that, it also offers I/O connectivity with two USB 2.0 ports, an audio/mic ports and DC-in jack. Regarding its durability, the Lobera Spectrum uses the Kalih switches, which is believed to have a lifespan of 60 million keystrokes. You can have one at a price of $149. With this new keyboard option out in the market, competing companies will have to bring their A-game.

If you want portability, neatness, and cuteness on your keyboard and mouse, then Microsoft have just the right one for you. This keyboard is claimed to be their thinnest keyboard and mouse yet. While we only have its length at 12.32” and width at 4.41”, we still haven’t found out how thick it really is, but with all the hype, I bet it’s really thin. Both keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth capable and is said to support Bluetooth 4.0 enabled devices such as Android 4.4, Mac OS 10.10, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows RT 8/8.1. At a bundled price, you have this Designer Bluetooth Desktop at $99.95.

Microsoft’s Foldable Keyboard For Mobile Device

To add to Microsoft’s new devices, they also have created a new foldable version of their universal keyboard for iOS, Android and Windows. Same as before, this new foldable keyboard has similar features with their recent universal keyboard, with the exception of no function keys (although, it has a function key for the usual audio controls, search functionality and more) and of course being folded up for portability. This keyboard would best fit mobile device-holders that tend to send emails or write articles regularly. This keyboard is said to be released later this July at the price of $99.95.

Keyboards Are Still Important

It can be seen that keyboards are essential for our computing needs. The keyboards allow us to customize our desktop especially to those who are into overclocking and making their rig look good. Also, the ease of using keyboards makes our lives a lot easier. Now that there are different types being developed, there are a range to suit us all especially the portable ones where everything is going mobile. Therefore buying a good quality one is always the best choice!

In the last few months I’ve tested 3 keyboards. 1) Corsair K70 RGB, 2) Razer Blackwidow Chroma, 3) SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical. Each had their pro’s & con’s, of course, but in the end the SteelSeries won. If the Corsair’s software wasn’t so buggy and if they offered it in a blue or green (my fav) switch then I would have probably chosen it.
