Just recently, Nvidia announced the coming of GeForce GTX 960M and GTX 950M to add to their 900-series mobile lineup. Expectantly enough, in just a few days big named companies such as Asus and Razer announced of their new gaming laptops stated to hold the power of the new Nvidia GTX 960M and 950M.
While the current mobile GPUs are strong enough to handle our games, these new lineups bring less power and are encased in sleek notebook designs.
That being said, gamers can now enjoy a portable notebook design with Optimus, which automatically calibrates your laptop to give the best graphics performance. Also, now that DirectX 12 is just around the corner, the notebooks are to have Direct X 12 support.
Asus ROG G501
Everyone knows that Asus is one of the leading distributors of laptops. Just a few days ago, they announced their 4.54 lbs and 15.6” gaming laptop, the Asus ROG G501. This laptop is to be available in a dark grey 0.81” thick aluminium chassis with brushed metal finish and red bezel accents.
Aside from having the Nvidia GTX 960M, it also uses other latest mobile technology, including the 47W Intel Haswell Core i7 4720HQ. The memory could also go up to 16GB of DDR 3 RAM and is said to have a whopping 512 GB PCI-E x4 SSD. While all of these seem to acquire lots of power, Asus claims that their hyper-cool tech will keep the system running smoothly and cool. You can have a ROG G501 on your own at the MSRP of $1,999.
Asus has also announced that their GL551 and G751 series are updated to include the new mobile GPU’s from Nvidia.
Razer Blade Pro
Razer also took hold of Nvidia’s new mobile GPUs and announced to have engineered a gaming laptop designed for extreme gameplay. The Razer Blade Pro will be having the GeForce GTX 960M GPU with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM. Same as Asus ROG G501, it will be powered by Intel’s Core i7-4720HQ and will also have a storage capacity for up to 512 GB SSD. Unlike the ROG G501, the Razer Blade Pro will be a bit heavier at 6.76 lbs but in a 17.3” Full HD display.

Updated And Upcoming
While Asus and Razer had the opportunity to release a new gaming laptop of their own, MSI and Acer also acquired the power of the new GTX 960M and GTX 950 by updating their select notebooks and laptops.
